Obituary for Beverly J Bunten

Beverly J Bunten, 83, of Palmyra, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at her home in Palmyra, MO.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 Am Monday May 6th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra.
Father Eruo Basil will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Palmyra.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM, Sunday May 5th, 2019 at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.

Beverly was born February 25, 1936, in Trenton, Missouri to Alfred Wimer and Grace Cox Wimer Dix.

Beverly's first marriage to Korean Veteran, Robert Lee Wilhoit, in 1963, ended when he was killed in an accident while serving in the Oregon National Guard. Beverly then married Gerald Bunten on November 27, 1965 in Trenton, Missouri. He survives.
Other survivors include Son(s), Robert Wilhoit Bunten (Linda), Palmyra, MO; Steven Wilhoit Bunten (Kim), Palmyra, MO; Daughter, Philippa M Bunten, Palmyra, MO; Daughter, Teresa C Gottman (Rodney), Palmyra, MO; Brother, Roy Wimer (Phyllis),Broken Arrow, OK; six Grandchildren, Corey Gottman, Leslie Keeney (Michael); Jacob Bunten (Kara), Mark Bunten (Andrea), Lauren Huggins (Ryan), John Bunten ( Elizabeth Billquist), and seven wonderful Great- Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Bob Wilhoit, Brother Bob Wimer and Sister Lucille Watkins (Richard).

Beverly graduated from Trenton High School, in Trenton Missouri.
Professionally she and Gerry owned and operated the American Family Insurance Agency in Palmyra, MO for many years until she retired.
Beverly loved her family and she rarely missed any of her grandchildren's activities. A wonderful cook, Beverly made the best fried chicken and homemade noodles. A talented "green thumb" Beverly loved to garden and put in a huge strawberry patch. Christmas was always a special time of year for Beverly and in particular she loved to spoil her family with huge stockings overflowing with presents. Traveling across country in train or car to simply take in nature's beauty were also moments that Beverly loved. Most of all Beverly cherished the time she shared with her family.
Beverly was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Palmyra, MO.

Pallbearers will be Corey Gottman, Jacob Bunten, Mark Bunten, John Bunten, Michael Keeney, and Ryan Huggins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leslie Keeney, Andrea Bunten, Lauren Huggins, Kara Bunten, Elizabeth Billquist, and Charlotte Rylander.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Palmyra Serenity Club or for Masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church
