Mary Nelson

Mary M. Nelson, 94, of rural Hannibal, Missouri, died at 10:07 P M Tuesday at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Mary was born May 20, 1918 in Marion County, Missouri to Harry R. and Harriet Harsh Buckwalter. She married Roy R. Nelson July 10, 1938 in Hannibal, Mo.. and he preceded her in death March 23, 1994. She is survived by children; Bonnie ( Earl) Meyers of Palmyra; Daniel ( Rita) Nelson of Palmyra; Robert Nelson of Palmyra; Kathleen Nelson of Palmyra; Jeanette ( Mike) Symmonds of Columbia, Mo.; Ronald Nelson of Palmyra; Betty ( Stan) Hampton of Vienna, Mo.; Wesley Nelson of Palmyra; brothers: Mahlon Buckwalter of Palmyra; Arthur Buckwalter of Monroe City, Mo.; Warren Buckwalter of Hannibal; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, James R. Nelson and brothers, John, Amos, Paul, Nathan, Allan, and Wayne Buckwalter. Mary was a homemaker and a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Palmyra. She was a graduate of Palmyra High School. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A. M. Friday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Roger Ricketts will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P. M. Thursday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Palmyra First Presbyterian Church . Casket Bearers are Mike Nelson, Matt Nelson, David Meyers, Randy Nelson, and Rob Bush.
