Karen K. Conner, 58, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Karen was born April 29, 1954 in Hannibal, Missouri to Lawrence E. and Betty Quinlin Gottman. Karen was married to Howard Conner April 27, 1974 at the First Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Survivors include:daughter, Carey Britt and husband Pat of Quincy; sister, Donna Frankenbach and husband Ross of Palmyra; brother, Larry Gottman and wife Karen of Palmyra; sister-in-law Judy Gottman of Quincy. Also, 2 brother and 3 sister in laws as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Danny Gottman; father and mother in law, Henry and Mayme Conner; and a brother in law, Jim Conner.
Mrs. Conner had retired from General Mills in Hannibal, Missouri after many years of service.
She was a 1972 graduate of Palmyra High School where she played on the varsity basketball team.
Karen was an active volunteer with the Palmyra Recycling Center, Palmyra Food Pantry, and the adopt-a-family program thru her Church. Karen and Howard where proud participants in the 1977 Rose Bowl Parade where they were able to showcase the Potter-Conner World Champion Mules sponsored by the Palmyra Chamber of Commerce. She was known for her cooking and loved sharing in food and fellowship with her friends and family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Palmyra where she was ordained as a Deacon.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, Missouri. Rev. Roger Ricketts and Rev. Dewayne Larenson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church .
