Darrell Ray Hoehne

Darrell Ray Hoehne, 71, of Palmyra, Mo., died at 9:58 A M Saturday at his home. Darrell was born October 13, 1940 at Levering Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. to Roy and Myrtle Meyer Hoehne. He married Reba Wagner June 9, 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra. Darrell is survived by his wife, Reba, daughters: Janet (Steve) Lehenbauer of Auxvasse, Mo.; Karen Powell of Palmyra; Susan (Steven) Schwanke of Palmyra; grandchildren; Jamie ( Dustin) Rhoades of Auxvasse; Craig Floyd, Caleb Floyd, and Justin Lehenbauer, all of Columbia, Mo.; Olivia Lehenbauer of Auxvasse; Grant Powell, Carter Powell, and Dalton Schwanke, all of Palmyra; uncle, Earl Meyer of Palmyra; aunt, Berniece Degard of Kirksville; brother-in-law, Bob Lillard of Durham, Mo.; sisters-in-law; Rose ( Wayne ) Lucke of Palmyra; Corinne Wagner of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous neices, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret ( Hoehne) Lillard, and nephew, William ( Bill) Lillard. Darrell was a 1955 graduate of Prairie View Grade School and a 1959 graduate of Palmyra High School. He was a long time meat cutter in the Palmyra area. He was a past member of Luther Manor Retirement & Nursing Home Board and Fabius Community House Board of Directors. He was a former 4- H Leader with Fabius 4- H Club and a former member of Palmyra Jaycees. He enjoyed yardwork and gardening, reading (especially to his grandchildren), jigsaw puzzles and bowling. Darrell was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra in December, 1940 and received the Rite of Confirmation on April 3, 1955. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was a Deacon and past member of the Church Council. His message to us: Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A. M. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra. Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 P. M. Tuesday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. It was Darrell's request that instead of plants or flowers, you remember him with a memorial to the Zion Lutheran Church basement and kitchen remodeling fund. .
