Clemont J. Bevill

Clemont Jackson ( C. J.) Bevill, 85, of Quincy, Il., and formerly of Philadelphia, Mo, died at 5:58 P M Sunday at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra. Clemont was born February 25, 1926 in Steffenville, Missouri to Aaron Jackson and Maude Lorena Platz Bevill. He married Betty Jane Fagan July 4, 1945 in Philadelphia, Missouri. She preceded him in death October 20, 2010. He is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Ann Stratton of Osage Beach, MO; sons: Edward Jackson Bevill & wife Loretta of Philadelphia, MO; and Clemont Lee Bevill of Hopkinsville, KY; grandchildren: Breck Stratton of Olathe, Ks.; Kendelle ( Chris) Seidner of Jefferson City, MO; Camelia Bevill and Carrie Mae Bevill of Philadelphia; Amanda ( Chuck ) Woodward of Griggsville, IL; Israel Bevill of Palmyra; Heidi ( Will) Frazier of Grain Valley, MO; Jonathan Bevill stationed in Afghanistan; step granddaughter, Sarah Wells Scott of Marthasville, MO; sister, Frankie Turner of Quincy, Il.; great grandchildren; Alexys Stratton, Bella Seidner, Thad Neisen, Austin Bevill, Megan Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Peyton Woodward, Garret Woodward, Alana Frazier, step great grandchildren Nick Koffman, Katherine Miller, Hailey and Cole Seidner, Ella and Jack Scott. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lena Anderson, Ona Mae Staggs- Thrasher, Anna Turner,and Hazel Schieferdecker. Clemont farmed most of his life in the Philadelphia area. He also owned a bulldozing and a lime and fertilizer business in Philadelphia. Clemont was an avid pilot and owned 16 different airplanes. He loved traveling in their motor homes and he and Betty went on 34 cruises. He enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Az. He was a member of Nelsonville Assembly of God Church in Nelsonville, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Friday at the Nelsonville Assembly of God Church in Nelsonville, Mo. Pastor Charles Sharpe, Rev. Millie Reed, and Rev. Kevin Scott will officiate. Interment will be in Philadelphia Cemetery in Philadelphia , Missouri. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P. M. Thursday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Memorial contributions may be made to Maple Lawn Nursing Home or Heartland Ministries . Casket Bearers are Randy Crabill, Matt Crabill, Thad Neisen, Breck Stratton, Israel Bevill, Charles Woodward, Will Frazer, and Chris Seidner.
